With the switch to the autumn season, my beauty routine has changed a bit too. The days are cold and the biting wind is a reminder to keep skin moisturized - face and body! - before heading outside. (Edit: As I am writing this blog post, it is snowing for the second time in a month! I guess we're skipping autumn this year.) While doing my very best to keep my skin healthy and as hydrated as possible, I also like to spend more time on perfecting my base on days that I'm wearing makeup. Two keywords for my preferred everyday makeup look are glowy and long-lasting.

The first - yet often neglected - step before the actual makeup part is to apply a primer. My go-to foundation of the moment is YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat. It took me a while to get used to this foundation, but now I can't be without it. It blends easily and makes my skin look dewy and healthy. For concealer I use MAC Pro Longwear where needed and if I have any blemishes that need extra coverage, I'll apply some of Catrice's Camouflage Cream. To set the foundation and concealer I've been loving the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in 'Diffused'. This pressed powder hides redness and adds glow to the skin. Yep, I'm all about glowy skin lately! Last but not least, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in 'Soft & Gentle' or one of their eyeshadows in the shade 'Nylon' as a highlight on my cheekbones and nosebridge, and blush if I feel like it.

So I will admit this isn't my most recent picture, but since I have the same products on my face, still relevant!

At this point I'm already pleased with my makeup, so I keep my eye makeup minimal and stick to subtle lip colours for the daytime. I apply a clear brow gel to keep my brows in place, might wear a few soft eyeshadow shades - this dupe for the Naked 3 palette by W7 (*click to see the colours*) is lovely! - and finish off with mascara and a nude kohl pencil on the lower waterline. To make sure everything stays in place, I use a setting spray by Urban Decay and I'm good to go!

Do you stick to a certain makeup routine, or do you like to switch up products a lot?

  5. IT'S LIKE NO MAKEUP MAKEUP! Love how subtle everything is. Also, it snowed here in Toronto too! WHERE HAS AUTUMN EVEN GONE? I've been thinking about getting Pro Longwear for my spots, but I'm going to assume it's not full coverage? Well, I was either going to get that or MUFE's Full Cover. Decisions, decisions!

    1. I'd call it medium coverage. It covers well, I just feel like I'd need a corrector underneath to help minimize redness and dark circles before using the Pro Longwear. I've never tried the MUFE one, wish I could compare them! PS. it's snowing here AGAIN RIGHT NOW. When I woke up there was like 10 cm of snow and it just keeps going!
