The Body Shop is one of my favourite places to look for bath & body products. A while back I visited the local store and - to my own surprise - ended up buying quite a lot. The Finnish climate has got me stocking up on a shushload of moisturizing products: body butter, hand cream, hair oil, you name it. I did manage to buy some of them on discount, so if I can spend my pennies smart, it's a good enough excuse to spend them, right?
A few products I'd been curious about are the Almond Hand & Nail Cream and the Hemp Hand Protector. Both are favourites amongst customers and they're true skin saviours during the colder months of the year. The Almond variation aims to keep hands and cuticles soft and hydrated; it is on the oilier side, whereas the Hemp hand cream with its thick consistency will protect skin all day.
The aluminium packaging is just the kind that I like - I would prefer this over fancy packaging any time. Because of the size it's not very travel-friendly, so for now I leave these hand creams at home. The product itself gives the results that The Body Shop promises. I use the Almond hand cream as I would use any other: whenever my skin is feeling dry or tight. Its consistency is light, so you don't need a lot of product. It does leave a thin oily layer right after applying, I personally don't mind because the hand cream sinks into the skin quickly. The Hemp version is on the thicker side. This makes it a perfect hand cream to apply before bed. I let the ingredients do their magic overnight and wake up with nice, moisturized skin. I also use the Hemp hand cream on days when it's freezing cold and I know my skin needs extra hydration.
I know I can't go a day without applying hand cream or other moisturizers, but now I'm curious about your favourites? I'm always interested in finding new products. Let me know in the comments below!
PS. I visited the store in Helsinki on Monday and I could not stop staring at all the Christmas gift sets! There were so many cool gifts, I could easily add all of them to my wish list. Halloween is clearly over, and Finland is counting down 'till Christmas.

I use hand creams like a madwoman! I go through them like a baby goes through diapers, no shit. These too sound really nice, especially the second one.

DeleteI remember this one winter I had really dry skin (when I was still in Taiwan), and I picked up the hemp body cream. It really helped! From what I remember the line smells funny though. I might like the almond one more :)

Delete't Is heel erg, ik weet het, maar ik ben vaak te lui om handcrème te gebruiken. De Almond Cream ga ik deze winter ook aanschaffen en parkeren naast mijn bed. Hopelijk maak ik er een routine van!
ReplyDeleteNah, 'k snap je volledig hoor. Hier drogen mijn handen gewoon zodanig uit dat ik wel constant MOET smeren. Hopelijk bevalt de handcrème je!
