Now that the colder days have completely gone (yay!), I adjusted my skincare routine to be more spring appropriate. For the past 6 weeks or so, I've stuck to using the same products every morning, with some exceptions every now and then. Today I thought I'd show you what I put on my - still sleepy, always - face in the morning! For reference, my skin type would be described as normal with sensitive areas (chin, nose bridge).

CLEANSER- First I wash my face with Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser (*review*). This face wash has been a favourite of mine from the very beginning. There's still plenty of product in this tube, which I bought in September last year and I wonder how much it'll have left when I leave for Finland if I keep using it every day. Even the packaging looks almost as good as new! This cleanser works so well for my skin because it is gentle and removes all the dirt without making my skin feel tight. I'll also use the Ultra Facial Cleanser on evenings when I haven't worn makeup.

TONER- Next I spray some toner - I've been loving the Tea Tree Water from Lush - on my hand and massage it in my skin. I prefer this over spraying the product directly on to my face to avoid that 'wet' feeling on my skin. Also, too much of this stuff can cause your skin to feel tight so by applying it with your hands you get to control just how much you're using.

(EYE CREAM)- I put this between brackets because I'm not using an eye cream at the moment. Not that I'd necessarily need one, I just don't know which one would be right for me. I got to try the Enchanted eye cream from Lush, which was a nice product. I would always apply it right before moisturizer.

SERUM OR MOISTURIZER- For the last step I switch between a serum and a moisturizer, depending on my skin's needs. Is it a normal day for my skin? Does it need extra hydration? Do I want my skin to look more radiant? In the first two situations my new Hydréane moisturizer from La Roche-Posay (*review*) is the one. The light formula is perfect for spring and doesn't take long to work into the skin. By the time I've gathered the makeup products I want to use that day, my skin is all prepped. On days when I want my skin to look extra healthy, I'll opt for Caudalie's Vinoperfect serum (*review*). This has been a staple in my skincare routine for 8 months now and even though it doesn't fulfill its promise of fading blemishes, it gives skin an instant radiance boost. I also find it is great as a foundation primer when I want to achieve a more glowy finish.

Every now and then, when I've got some spare time, I'll exfoliate as a second step in my skincare routine. I've been using the Reincarnation facial exfoliator from New Zealand based brand Antipodes for a month now and I am loving it. Facial scrubs were always too harsh for my skin, but this product is just perfect for a gentle exfoliation. Expect a full review on some goodies from Antipodes soon!

This is the routine that works best for my skin. Sticking to the same products has helped my skin become healthier. I use most of these products in the evening too, just more varied and combined with other products. If you want, I can show you my evening skincare routine too, just let me know in the comments!

  2. Yess Vinoperfect Radiance Serum for the win! I've been trying the new Caudalie Polyphenol C15 range (it's probably not for you yet! You're too young), so that features heavily in my morning routine. I also use a foaming cleanser for a quick wash, and then the serum and day cream (with an SPF).

    1. Oh you're probably right, I am still curious to read about that new product though :) I'm currently on the hunt for a good SPF for my face, since my skin is sensitive to so many products I'm a bit scared to try anything
